The temperatures might be dipping all across the country, but things never get too chilly here in sunny Salinas! If you’re planning a pre-Christmas trip here, then you won’t need too many layers with you. On the stage

You’ve heard the song, you’ve seen the movie, now see Mamma Mia on the stage! Taking place through to December 22 at the Golden Bough Playhouse, you’ll be able to sing along to all your favourite ABBA tracks you join hapless Sophie as she tries to find out just who her father is.

Seasonal fun

The sun might be shining, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy one of everyone’s favorite Christmas adventures, ice-skating. The seasonal ice rink will once again be returning to Custom House Plaza. Get down there, don some skates, and see just how good you are on the ice.

Explore the outdoors

It shouldn’t all be seasonal fun when you’re visiting such a beautiful year-round spot, however. Make sure you put on the hiking boots and get down Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, which is around 40 minutes from Salinas, to checkout one of California’s most picturesque spots. A wonderful place to explore, especially if you’re with the kids.
